Proposing draft laws and royal decrees, and issuing regulations and decisions related to the Authority’s competencies.

Work to complete the procedures for small and medium enterprises to obtain the necessary licenses and approvals to practice their activities, based on the request of their owners, while giving priority in this regard to requests submitted by enterprises whose owners are dedicated to managing them.

Encouraging integration between small and medium enterprises and large companies on the one hand, and supporting industries and services on the other hand.

Working to encourage marketing and promotion of products and services of small and medium enterprises and craftsmen inside and outside the Sultanate by organizing and participating in exhibitions in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Building an integrated electronic information system with a call center capable of providing information supporting the activities of small and medium enterprises and their areas of work.

Preparing a special register for small and medium enterprises and craftsmen, including a statement of their size, economic activities, and the number and type of workers in them.

Establishing business centres and incubators for small and medium enterprises and craftsmen in the various governorates of the Sultanate, investing in and managing them by the Corporation, and supervising and following up on private incubators established by the private sector, in accordance with what the Authority decides.

Establishing specialized centers to raise the competitive capabilities of small and medium enterprises, and develop their products and services in line with the best international standards.

Organizing training and qualification courses for entrepreneurs, managers of small and medium enterprises, and craftsmen, to provide them with the basic skills to manage and operate their institutions in accordance with the best international practices.

Establishing the necessary mechanism, in coordination with the Tender Board, to ensure that a percentage of various government purchases and tenders are allocated to small and medium enterprises, in a manner that does not conflict with the provisions of the laws and agreements in force in the Sultanate.

Ensuring that small and medium enterprises obtain business opportunities from purchases, contracts and services from local added value, in coordination with the competent authorities.

Working to develop local suppliers from SMEs in innovative industries for in-country value added initiatives.

Working on studying and analyzing investment opportunities resulting from the local value added chain, to encourage the establishment of small and medium enterprises, and ensure their benefit.

Financing entrepreneurs, owners of small and medium enterprises, and craftsmen to establish and expand their enterprises or activities, in accordance with the controls set by the Authority.

Establishing the necessary mechanism in coordination with the Central Bank of Oman to ensure an increase in credit facilities provided to small and medium enterprises, and allocating the percentage approved by the Central Bank of Oman of commercial loans to these enterprises.

Coordinating with the relevant authorities to develop the necessary plans to develop venture capital in small and medium enterprises.

Proposing draft laws and royal decrees, and issuing regulations and decisions related to the Authority’s competencies.

Strengthening and developing cooperation in the specializations related to the Authority with other relevant bodies in countries, organizations and specialized regional and international institutions.

Representing the Sultanate in regional and international conferences, events and meetings related to the Authority’s competencies.

Any other powers stipulated by laws and royal decrees.
